Our Impact
Did you know that planting trees is an awesome way to fight climate change? A single mature tree can absorb up to 44 kg of CO2 per year, making them nature's air filters.
Why We Plant Trees
Greenhouse gases such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2) trap heat from the sun, causing global warming and climate change. This is called the Greenhouse effect.
Accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere – from the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation – lead to a heating of the earth's surface. This in turn leads to impacts such as shifting seasons, rising sea-levels, disappearing Arctic sea-ice and more intense heat waves.
This is why each year, we have increasingly intense heatwaves in India, setting a new record each month as of 2024.
To fight this, we must do our best to control our carbon emissions and reduce the amount of CO2 we release everyday.
One way to do this, is by planting more trees.
How Planting Trees Can Help
Trees absorb Carbon Dioxide(CO2) through photosynthesis, sequestering approximately a metric ton of CO2 in it's lifetime. Though just planting trees won't solve the entire problem, they are an essential part of the process of saving the planet.
